Portmeirion Group is a British company selling ceramic tableware, giftware, glassware and home fragrance products worldwide. Our six unique and established homeware and fragrance brands have over 750 years of collective life: Portmeirion, Spode, Wax Lyrical, Royal Worcester, Pimpernel and Nambé.

In 1972, the introduction of Portmeirion Botanic Garden, a design created and shaped by Susan Williams-Ellis, led to a significant increase in turnover. This distinctive design has since been complemented by the introduction of many new motifs and shapes over the years. Portmeirion Botanic Garden continues to be the highest selling pattern of Portmeirion Group.

In 2006, Portmeirion acquired the premier brand for placemats and coasters, Pimpernel.

Further enhancing its brand portfolio in 2009, Portmeirion acquired the intellectual property and trade names of Spode and Royal Worcester.

Founded by Josiah Spode in 1770, Spode has been producing the finest ceramics and celebrated designs in Stoke-on Trent, England for 250 years. Spode is the authority on great British style bringing heritage style to modern day life.

Royal Worcester was established in 1751 and has a rich and diverse design heritage.

Following substantial investment in the brands under Portmeirion Group ownership, Spode and Royal Worcester ranges continue to flourish and have been complemented by the addition of new collections such as Royal Worcester Wrendale Designs.

In 2016, Portmeirion acquired Wax Lyrical Limited, the UK’s largest manufacturer of home fragrances. Wax Lyrical, with its high-quality brands and “Made in Britain” pedigree, has been a strong strategic fit for Portmeirion and the acquisition has expanded the Group’s product offering and customer base.

In 2019, Portmeirion acquired Nambé LLC, a US based premium homewares business recognized for its award-winning designs. The acquisition provided additional scale in the Group’s key US market while continuing to diversify the Group into new homeware product categories.

Portmeirion is recognized worldwide for producing unique designs as epitomized by its best-selling Botanic Garden range. The award-winning Sophie Conran for Portmeirion collection together with the new Atrium and Sara Miller London Portmeirion ranges showcase the diverse, high quality products within the brand which deliver both beautiful designs and practicality for modern day living.

Renowned for its rich heritage and innovative designs, Spode’s product portfolio appeals across the generations and includes celebrated patterns such as Blue Italian and Christmas Tree.

Celebrating its 250th anniversary in 2020, Spode is widely regarded as one of the UK’s great ceramic brands. New designs such as Kingsley keep Spode at the forefront of contemporary yet timeless Great British design.

Royal Worcester has a rich and diverse design heritage. The brand offers a wide spectrum of quality products including fashionable fine bone china mugs and sophisticated, competitively priced tableware sets. New characters and line extensions have enhanced the popularity of the Royal Worcester Wrendale Designs collection of mugs and giftware.

With its unrivalled reputation for quality products, Pimpernel is the premier brand for corked back placemats and coasters, melamine trays, and accessories. With the introduction of new and exclusive designs, Pimpernel continues to build on its holistic solution for the tabletop.

Wax Lyrical is the UK’s largest home fragrance company. It manufactures an extensive range of fragranced candles and diffusers from its base in the British Lake District and distributes these around the world under its brands of Wax Lyrical and Colony. Proud of its manufacturing capability, Wax Lyrical produces own label products for many famous retailers, brands and supermarkets. Licensed ranges include Collier Campbell, Fired Earth, RHS and Yvonne Ellen.

Recognized for its award-winning designs for more than 60 years, Nambé’s commitment to timeless beauty, artistic integrity and uncompromising quality is evident in the brand’s collection of dinnerware, serveware, barware, home décor and gift items. Nambé collaborates with the world’s most esteemed designers to develop products that bring function and style into the home.
